Make this Christmas extra special by adding some handcrafted, linocut printed touches with Lisa Takahashi.

On this workshop you will learn fundamental linocut skills that can help you start (or re-energise!) your journey with this addictive image making process.

  • Learn about the history of linocut and how this process has contributed to 20th and 21st Century Art & Design
  • Discover the design, cutting and printing stages of linocut printmaking
  • Create your own Christmas cards and tags, ready to give to loved ones

Lisa will guide you through the design process, taking into consideration the bold and graphic qualities that linocut has the potential for. You’ll then be shown tried and tested ways to transfer your image to the lino before using high quality steel forged gouges to cut your designs. Once your lino is ready, you will have the opportunity to print cards and gift tags that will be ready for the present giving season!

You’ll leave the day with knowledge of how to repeat the process at home, a freshly cut lino with your design ready for printing, and a handful of tags and cards ready to give to your favourite people.

Other previous shows include with the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, the Royal Watercolour Society, the Society of Women Artists and the New English Art Club.
